Coffin Works

Built in the late 1800’s this company possibly made the world’s finest coffin furniture and furnished coffins of the late princess Diana, Churchill and Chamberlain.
After closing down in the sixties is has now been now restored to a working museum we were asked to record some authentic ambient audio of ‘the factory at work’ to accompany tour guides of the building and to add the general work ambience of that time…

Sounds like the sewing machines that made the shrouds that would line the coffin interior – sounds of the packing rooms where orders were sorted and packed complete with tannoy announcements for the staff.
Was good fun working on the project in conjunction with Trilby and I look forward to the opening a few weeks time…
